Phishing Fraud

Have you ever received an email asking you to provide confidential personal or financial information such as your personal identification or account numbers? Most of these emails urge victims to quickly provide information by replying to the email or visiting phony websites, often under the pretext that service will be interrupted.

This fraudulent technological phenomenon, known as phishing, is a major problem for both Internet users and businesses. That is why it is so important to be extremely cautious when you are being asked to provide personal information by email.

Desjardins Financial Security and other Desjardins Group entities never ask for personal or confidential information by email. So if ever you receive this type of email in the future, you will know it is fraudulent. You should delete the email immediately or forward it to us so that we can take the appropriate action.

For more information on this topic, contact Desjardins Group by email at: phishing@desjardins.com, or visit the Phishing section of the Desjardins.com website.
