First things first: Understanding mental illness and finding help

Mental illnesses can take many forms, just as physical illnesses do. Mental illnesses are still feared and misunderstood by many people, but the fear will disappear as people learn more about them.

Visit the Understanding Mental Illness section of the Canadian Mental Health Association's (CMHA) website, where myths about mental illness are debunked and where you can learn more about mental illnesses and their treatment or find out more about getting help.

Two brochures about work-life balance

Desjardins Financial Security has produced two work-life balance brochures in partnership with the Psychology Foundation of Canada.

  

The first, The Struggle to Juggle: Stress Management Strategies for You and Your Family, is designed for families, and is bursting with tips for managing stress and identifying its symptoms in children.

The Feeling Better: Dealing with Anxiety and Depression in the Workplace brochure, intended for workers, was designed by Desjardins Financial Security in partnership with Rogers Publishing and deals primarily with anxiety and depression in the workplace.
