A Speech by Dean Bergeron Touches Everyone Deeply, as Demonstrated by These Messages...
Dear Dean,
Thanks again for speaking to our employees as part of our special week. I liked how you established a rapport with people in the room, and your speech was very good-in fact, it was EXCELLENT!
Everyone talked about your presentation for the rest of the day; they really liked it. And even more important, for Émilia and me, was the fact that the points you made will stay with them. You showed them a positive way of looking at life.
So, once again, let me just say a big THANK YOU. It's always nice to see you-don't be a stranger!
Good luck in the Games in September. We'll be thinking of you.
Nicole L.

Dear Dean,
I'm just taking a couple of minutes from work to thank you for your wonderful speech. The audience and the committee both appreciated it very much. The entire day apparently went very well, and your contribution played a major part. It was certainly the most memorable end to the agricultural seminar I've ever seen.

Dear Dean,
I'm writing to say.well.it's hard to put into words, but I'll do my best! I just wanted to tell you how much you've affected me and how much admiration I have for you. I was lucky enough to meet you in Valcartier on September 28, when you gave a speech to a theatre company of young people called the "Troupe ensemble". Maybe I'm repeating myself, but I'll never forget what you said, and I really admire you for everything you've been through, for all the times you didn't let yourself get discouraged or give up, whether because of a physical obstacle like an escalator or the time you weren't selected for the Canadian (I think) team, for the time you spent getting readjusted to society, and especially because after your accident you didn't just fall apart: you decided to make the best of things. Just that alone-it's wonderful. Not to mention everything else you accomplished afterward; it's extraordinary. I hope you're proud of yourself. Truly. Well, that's about it-I've said everything I wanted to say. I'm sure you get lots of letters like this, but I had to write anyway. Keep on meeting people and sharing your experiences with them; it really makes people think, and it's absolutely great.
Hoping to see you again some day,
Émilie B.
P.S.: Good luck in all your upcoming competitions. Believe me, if you make it to the next Paralympic Games, I'll be at home cheering you on!
