The disability benefit helps plan members cope with the loss of income resulting from their inability to work due to illness or injury. It may include:

  • Short term disability benefit (weekly indemnity) that provides for the payment of a fixed benefit or an amount equal to a percentage of the plan member's salary.

Critical Illness Benefit

Complementing the disability benefit, critical illness benefit is the only benefit that covers the cost incurred if a plan member contracts one of the 17 different covered illnesses such as cancer, paralysis, multiple sclerosis or Alzheimer's disease.

As the lump-sum benefit is paid during the insured's lifetime, it helps to maintain his/her quality of life that is often turned upside down by the illness. The insured may use this sum in any way he or she pleases for such things as:

  • Re-fitting the vehicle to his/her new situation
  • Building an access ramp to his/her home
  • Covering the cost of some treatments
  • Paying for convalescence abroad

  • Paying for private health care services

Accidental Death or Dismemberment Benefit

In the event of a plan member's accidental death, this benefit provides for the payment of a lump sum in addition to the amount provided under basic life insurance. It also provides for the payment of a percentage of the lump sum in the event of accidental dismemberment.

Life Insurance Benefit

Life insurance provides a variety of benefits to your Plan Members:
